What an adventure! You wouldn't believe who I met. While walking along Wangfujing St., I met this guy who works in the area and also tries to practice his English. We hit it off and decided to meet up later. I needed a place to stay and he offered. I figured if he showed up at our meeting spot I could trust him, but if not, than I was better off. I ended up meeting up with him and we got on the bus to go to his place. He lives out of town, but I didn't realize how far out; it took about an hour to get there!
What a night! We had dinner with his friends for dirt cheep, went to the internet cafe, and afterwards I was able to get a cold shower. It was so refreshing because the weather here is so extremely hot. I feel so refreshed! Although my friend does not have much (it feels like camping), he is about the most giving and hospitable person I have ever met. I am so glad to have met him and his friends out here.
Pan Qingbi, thanks for your friendship and your trustworthiness. I'll give you a call next time I'm in Beijing.
