Off to Beijing

I've been on a lot of adventures this summer, like when I visited Tokyo, Kyoto, and Seoul, but I believe that the next two days may be my biggest adventure of the summer. I'm presently en route to Beijing, the host of the 2008 Olympics. I plan to spend two days there, mainly to see the Olympic Village and also some other famous places like the Summer Palace, Tiananmen, and possibly the Great Wall. There's a catch though. I have nothing planned or researched. I have not reserved a place to stay or brought along any guide materials. It's all by the seat of my pants. Haha! Bring it on Beijing!

Right now I'm riding the economy class rail sleeper car through the night from Qingdao to Beijing. I expect to arrive at 5AM tomorrow morning. If you ever get a chance to travel by rail (especially the sleepers) in China, I highly recommend it. They are surprisingly spacious and comfortable.
