109 Madness!

I met my friends around 4:30pm at Tokyo Station as planned and we immediately wasted no time getting into the city. First we went to Kokyo Gaien (The Imperial Palace Park) and strolled out to the Meganebashi (the bridge of eyeglass). We walked through the Ginza district, a sizzling area with crowds and department stores.

I'd have to say that my Japanese culture experience for the day that really stood out to me was our quick visit to Shibuya 109. I say quick for a reason. You have to see it to believe it! It is filled body-to-body with young women looking to find a good buy on the trendiest clothes, shoes, and bags. It's not just one floor either; it's 10 floors of this madness. Being that I was struggling with jet lag and that the temperature was astronomically high for 8:30 in the evening, I could only stand it for 15 minutes. That was enough. Needless to say, that place made my night.

I was drifting in and out of consciousness during the train ride back to my friend's house. How I have the strength to stay awake now is beyond me. Sleep is coming soon now.
